Student Achievement Council's 23rd Annual College of Education Research Symposium will be on Thursday, April 4, 2024, 4pm-7 pm.
Deadline For Submissions Has Been Extended to February 9, 2024
The College of Education Student Achievement Council's 23rd Annual Research Symposium conference committee welcomes student proposals that highlight work in graduate and undergraduate classes as well as independent research that will support our collective learning about topics related to Reclaiming the Right to Learn: Student Voice and Joy in Education in the academic fields and communities represented by the various programs in the College of Education.
Proposal submission is now open! Submit your proposal by February 9, 2024.
As a student-run organization, SAC encourages the free inquiry into topics of student-centered interest. We hope to offer the space for students to have an unfettered voice and the academic freedom to study, research, and share their scholarly expertise in a supportive learning community.
We anticipate that this theme encompasses a wide range of potential topics including but not limited to:
- Student-Centric Pedagogies
- Educational Technology for Empowerment
- Cultivating Inclusive Learning Spaces
- Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for Student Well-Being
- Assessment for Learning, Not Just Evaluation
- Student Advocacy and Leadership in Education
- Community Engagement and Education
- Teacher Professional Development for Student-Centered Approaches
- Empowering Critical Thinking & Agency in Learning
- Learning Across Cultural Divides
- Expanding Spaces: Diverse Opportunities for Learning
- Listening and Advocacy
Proposals may include completed research studies, ongoing studies with preliminary findings, literature reviews, conceptual or theoretical pieces, thesis or dissertation research, action learning or capstone project papers, and any other original scholarly work.
All presentations and posters must conform to the APA Style Manual, 7th Edition and must include references. Consultation with faculty is highly recommended. Group or individual submissions are welcome.
Graduate and undergraduate students interested in presenting may submit proposals for review by the symposium committee by February 9th, 2024. Students whose proposals are accepted for presentation or poster session must attend the symposium.
